We're pretty sure Porsche factory drivers have the best job in the world. They get to drive the latest and greatest Porsche has to offer, race around the world, and sometimes, muscle classic metal around the track. What more could you ask for in a 9-to-5?

Patrick Long, Road & Track contributor and the sole American in Porsche's factory driver lineup, was given the opportunity to drive a 1968 Porsche 911 T/R at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion this weekend. The T/R is a rare factory competition model based on the stripped out 911T, equipped with the engine from the more powerful 911S, or if optioned, the twin-plug flat-six from the achingly beautiful 906.

Long is a two-time Le Mans class winner, taking home first-place trophies for Porsche in 2004 and 2007. He currently races in the Pirelli World Challenge and the World Endurance Championship.

RACER was able to mount a GoPro to Long's helmet during one of his sessions at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and as you'd expect, it's pretty awesome to watch. Honestly, listening to the sound of that 911 is more than enough for us.

See, and hear, for yourself.
