Few cars better represent the 1980s better than the E30-generation BMW 3-Series. What we now know as a semi-affordable rear-wheel drive compact with lots of tuning and racing potential was previously the status symbol of choice for a generation. Naturally, you'd expect a promo video for the E30 3-Series to as indicative of its time as the car, and this one doesn't disappoint.

This video, apparently released originally in 1986, has floated around the internet for a few years now, but it recently resurfaced on Reddit. No one's talking about E30 3er's features here - instead, there's just beauty shots of the car in all sorts of odd settings. And a Jan Hammer-esque soundtrack. Naturally.

The footage of the all-wheel drive 325iX tearing around in snowy mountains is especially great. As is the clip of the legendary M3 out on track. But really, I don't need to say much more about this. Just watch and enjoy the '80s-ness.
