More than 150 cars entered this year's ADAC Eifel Rallye Festival, with the highlights of the demonstration event being the Group B and Group S cars, including Walter Röhrl in the unique mid-engined Audi Quattro prototype that was built in complete secrecy in Czechoslovakia for the 1987 season. The car covered more distance during those two stages than it did in total over the previous 30 years.

With five more Group S prototypes and all the Escorts, Celicas, Lancia Deltas, Audi Quattros, BMW E30s, Porsche 911s and even modern WRC cars one can ask for, watching a Lancia Stratos and Ari Vatanen's Peugeot Talbot Sport 405 T16 Pikes Peak car do its thing must have felt like an average Tuesday.
