Formula One hasn't had V10 engines since 2005. That's a shame.

Welcome to Better Than Coffee, your daily dose of car sounds designed to help you kick that caffeine habit.

The 3.0 liter V10-era of F1 ran from 1995 until 2005, and it was one of the best periods in the sport's history. The engines frequently revved to 20,000 rpm and let out a shriek that would wake the dead. Far better than the low pitched growl today's hybrid V6s have.
