Woods-Toth grabs inaugural FR Americas pole at IMS

Patrick Woods-Toth (No. 27 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) took the pole position for the inaugural Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The two-time winner recorded a 1m22.982s lap time to secure the pole by 0.063s over teammate and championship rival Ryan Shehan (No. 66 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3). Competitors in FR Americas had a single practice session Friday morning, which Shehan paced with a 1m23.506s lap. In an ultra-tight field, the top eight were all within one second of the leader. Sherlock followed in second, just 0.107s behind Shehan, with Jett Bowling (No. 02 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) rounding out the top three.

FR Americas will contest their first race of the weekend Saturday afternoon at 1:10 p.m. Prior to the lights going out, fans are invited to join the drivers, along with the Indy SpeedTour Grand Marshal, Lyn St. James, on pit lane for a special pre-race fan walk. Fans can meet the drivers, collect autographs, see the cars, and walk across the yard of bricks just moments before the lights go out. The fan walk begins at 12:30 p.m. ET.
