World May End as Tuner Plans Hyundai Engine Swap for Porsche 911

From Road & Track

Bisimoto is a tuning company that's well-known for building cars that are truly ridiculous. The owner, for example, drives a 1976 Porsche 911 Turbo that now makes 1000 horsepower. It's also the company behind the infamous 1000-horsepower Honda Odyssey. So while it's not surprising that Bisimoto would push the envelope with its latest SEMA project, the fact that it appears to be a Hyundai-powered Porsche 911 is a little unexpected.

The tuner posted this image to Instagram, calling it "the craziest, most unorthodox build to ever grace the #Bisimoto stable." And while it didn't say so specifically, that appears to be a Hyundai Lambda V6 in the photo. In front of a Porsche 911. What?

Then again, this won't be Bisimoto's first time bringing a Hyundai product to SEMA. In 2014, it brought a Hyundai Sonata that made more power than a Hellcat. And in 2012, it brought a 600-horsepower Elantra GT. What's even more ridiculous than those power numbers is that both cars were left front-wheel drive. Can you say torque steer?

We'll wait until we see the final car to pass any judgments on this mutant 911, but that means waiting until SEMA in November. But if you're a Porsche enthusiast, you can go ahead and assume this is a sign of the end times.
