Yamaha Recalls Three Models for Loose Nuts

Yamaha Recalls Three Models for Loose Nuts

Yamaha has issued a recall of FZ-09, FJ-09 and XSR900 models built from 2015 to 2017. Loose handlebars could pose a safety issue on a total of 22,433 machines in the states. “The lower handlebar holder may loosen due to a painting issue and the inadequate application of the thread-locking agent. If the handlebars are not properly secured to the motorcycle, loss of vehicle control may result, increasing the risk of a crash.”

But Yamaha is as good as its bond, one might say, and will notify owners of the models, and dealers will replace the part free of charge. Owners may contact customer service at 1/800/962-7926. The recall number is 990114.
