KEY ACTION – Hired Patty Smith as the fiscal officer, effective Jan. 1.

DISCUSSION: Smith was the previous fiscal officer for the village. Council accepted the resignation of fiscal officer Heather Lehmiller at the October meeting. Her resignation is effective Dec. 31.

OTHER ACTION

• Approved the purchase of safety cones for $162. New signs for installation will not be purchased until the spring at a cost not to exceed $800.

• Learned there are no stop signs on any alleys in the village. Mayor Scott Gordon ask the Bolivar Police to look at the alley situation and recommend to council, if signs are needed.

• Heard the Historic Preservation Committee has recommended better guidelines be developed for the historic and new homes. Gordon said those purchasing historic homes and also new construction need to have correct information about what and what is not allowed in the village.

• Heard Gordon suggest to amend the zoning ordinance concerning heavy loaded trucks or heavy equipment and a bond should be placed with the village prior to work staring. The village will be able to recoup funds if streets are damaged.

• Gave a $500 donation to Lawrence Township Trustees toward its composting site.
