2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed hits 205 mph: Motoramic Dash

This is the Motoramic Dash, a daily roundup of the most interesting news in the automotive world

If there was ever a quibble with the Bentley Continental and its twin-turbo W-12 engine, power wasn't among them. Yet that's not kept Bentley from building this: the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed, a 616-hp upgrade that gives the GT Speed a top velocity of 205 mph and the trophy of fastest Bentley ever built.

Set to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Continental GT Speed routes its newfound power through an 8-speed transmission to all four wheels. The setup makes the two-ton luxury cruiser capable of 60 mph in four seconds. Bentley tweaked the chassis and tires to handle the increased power, but given the kind of stately comfort buyers expect in a $200,000 luxury car, you'd likely have to park old next to new to hear any difference. For those in the market, the order books open today.
