Mysterious Dodge Challenger Has Been Stolen Twice

We’ve seen stories of cars which have been stolen multiple times, but this one about a Dodge Challenger swiped twice in North Carolina comes with something different. For starters, the second time the Mopar muscle car was stolen it was sitting in a tow company’s yard.

HOA president has a dead man’s cars towed on the day of his funeral.

Originally, the Challenger was recovered by Rocky Mount Police after they said it was found abandoned, reports WRAL. That happens often, with criminals no longer wanting to use a ride for whatever reasons.

But things get weird when it comes to the heist from the tow yard. The owner of that company says he dropped the Dodge off in the secured lot just minutes before someone used a chain to pull apart that fence and drive the muscle car out.

In other words, the thieves knew the vehicle was being towed and already had a plan to get it in their hands quickly.

Was it the same people who originally stole the Dodge Challenger? Well, things get even weirder. Rocky Mount Police say the vehicle was originally reported stolen out of Raleigh. WRAL couldn’t confirm that with police in Raleigh.

The tow company owner says the Challenger had fake plates when he picked it up. And he claims nobody seems to know who the rightful owner is. That’s really weird.

This whole story makes us wonder just what’s so special about the Mopar muscle car? Is it loaded with drugs in secret compartments? To go through all this effort to steal a Challenger when there are plenty of others thieves could more easily swipe, it just doesn’t add up.

Investigators are still looking for the 2018 Dodge Challenger with a mysterious past and something weird swirling around it currently.
