Yahoo Autos 2024 Genesis Electrified G80 Receives $5380 Price Reduction

The top-of-the-line Prestige model starts at $80,320—a $630 savings versus last year.
Since the Electrified G80 has a starting price that exceeds the $55K cap on cars, it's not eligible for the federal tax credit.
Looking for a new big, luxe electric sedan? Well, the 2024 Genesis Electrified G80 might be worth further consideration, as it's now more affordable than it was last year. That's because Genesis has introduced an entry-level Advanced model that starts at $75,570, essentially serving as a $5380 savings versus the 2023 version's base price.
Electrified G80 Prices
Previously, the Electrified G80 was only offered in Prestige guise. That's now the top-of-the-line trim, and it also receives a price reduction. Starting at $80,320 for the 2024 model year, it costs $630 less than before. It's unusual for an automaker to drop prices of new vehicles. In fact, most cars see price hikes of around $1000 or more year over year. The 2024 Genesis GV60 also received a significant price drop with the newly available rear-wheel-drive configuration.
It is possible that Genesis is lowering prices rather than raising them to try and make its lineup more competitively priced versus rivals. Also, because it's an electric car with an MSRP over $55,000, the EV G80 isn't eligible for the $7500 federal tax credit under the rules of the Inflation Reduction Act. The same goes for competitors such as the Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan.
While Genesis hasn't released information on the new Electrified G80 Advanced—namely what equipment comes standard and what costs extra—we expect it'll share a 365-hp dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain with the Prestige. The EPA estimates the 2024 EV G80 will have an estimated driving range of 282 miles on a full charge (same as last year). We expect the expanded lineup to go on sale in select states very soon.
