2024 Honda CR-V Review

Alongside Toyota’s RAV4, the Honda CR-V sets the standard for family transportation in the mid-2020s. Logically designed, beautifully built, and always comfortable it handles cross-country treks as well as it does urban spelunking. Expect a plug-in hybrid version to be added soon. But is the CR-V exciting? Nah. We'd love to see Honda do something nutty and build a CR-V Type R.

Pros

  • Roomy without being huge

  • Honda’s reputation for quality

  • Available hybrid system is innovative and effective

Cons

  • Never exciting

  • The 190-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged four feeds a lazy CVT transmission in non-hybrid models

  • Hybrid models have 204-horsepower, but weigh between 3700- and almost 4000-pounds
