Yahoo Autos 2025 Mazda 3 Hatchback Gets a Little Cheaper, Starts at $26,135
The 2025 Mazda 3 costs a little less than before, provided buyers opt for the sedan or hatchback's entry-level trim.
The sedan's $25,135 starting price is $220 less than last year, and the hatch adds the 2.5 S trim, which starts at $26,135 (down $740).
While the rest of the '25 Mazda 3 lineup costs slightly more, they add Amazon Alexa built-in and a navigation system that now offers over-the-air updates.
It's not often that cars get less expensive when they enter a new model year, but Mazda is breaking the mold with its compact sedan and hatchback. For 2025, the Mazda 3 gets a little cheaper. The sedan's entry-level 2.5 S trim now starts at $25,135, which represents a $220 discount versus last year. Its five-door counterpart sees a larger $740 price cut, as the Mazda hatchback is now offered with the same 2.5 S trim starting at $26,135.
Besides the new base model, every '25 Mazda 3 hatch now costs $300 more than before, peaking with the $38,135 Turbo Premium Plus. As for the rest of the Mazda 3 lineup, the Select Sport sedan once again starts at $25,875. However, this trim and above now comes with Amazon Alexa built-in that allows users to adjust in-vehicle settings as well as their smart devices at home via voice commands. The addition of Mazda Online Navigation also means that routes should be more accurate thanks to over-the-air updates.
While the starting price of the sedan's mid-tier Preferred model only rises by $150 to $27,525, all others increase by $350, with the top-spec Turbo Premium Plus listed at $36,985.
Just like before, there are two powertrain options: a 191-hp naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder that pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission. A six-speed manual also survives for another model year, but only on the five-door configuration with the Premium trim.
For those who want a little more grunt, the Mazda 3 sedan and hatchback are both available with a 250-hp 2.5 liter turbo four that also packs a notable 320 pound-feet of torque. This turbocharged powertrain is only offered with all-wheel drive, whereas the N/A version comes standard with front-wheel drive. Of course, folks who don't opt for the turbo can still get AWD on the Mazda 3 Carbon Edition.
Mazda says the hatchbacks will hit dealerships sometime this summer, with their sedan counterparts to follow early in the fall.
