Modena-based luxury car manufacturer, Ares, has unveiled significant updates to its S1 supercar, including the eye-catching option of gullwing doors. The company initially launched the S1 in 2020 using the foundation of the C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, offering it in coupe or speedster variations.

Taking customization to the next level, Ares has uniquely crafted both the exterior and interior of the S1. The supercar is equipped with a reworked 6.2-liter V-8 engine, originally from the Corvette Stingray, that now puts out a remarkable 715 horsepower. Notably, this power boost is achieved without any forced induction. A new rear-mounted exhaust system also adds to the vehicle's revamped look and performance.

One of the major design shifts comes in the form of its doors. Initially featuring butterfly doors common to the likes of Ferrari and McLaren, the latest iteration offers the iconic gullwing style doors. The exterior also receives a facelift in terms of its headlights, which now boast a refined appearance. The bodywork predominantly employs carbon fiber to keep the vehicle lightweight yet strong.

Inside the S1, Ares has executed a comprehensive overhaul. A luxurious blend of leather, carbon fiber, and Alcantara adorns the interior. A vertically-oriented central screen is now the command center for a custom-designed infotainment system. Additionally, the driver's area is dominated by a digital display that provides all essential driving metrics. Not to be left out, the passenger also has a dedicated screen that relays vehicle information and media options.

While the company has yet to announce an official delivery timeline, production is confirmed to be highly exclusive. Previously, Ares disclosed that both the coupe and speedster versions would see a limited run of only 24 units each.

In terms of pricing, the S1 was initially launched with a starting price tag of 500,000 euros, or roughly $536,000. Whether or not this cost will be revised following the recent updates remains unclear.

With these enhancements, Ares is setting a new standard for modern coachbuilding, adding a layer of exclusivity and craftsmanship that is sure to captivate automotive aficionados worldwide.
