Back in the day, Arnold Schwarzenegger stood for all things masculine and tough, at least for the greater part of the population. And while the man famously drove Humvees back before most of the general public got their hands on them, he also had a more exotic German truck, this 1977 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U1300 SE.

Learn about some of the versatility of the BearCat tactical vehicle lineup.

We know what you’re thinking: why do the Germans always plaster their cars with long names? Well in this case it works not only because the Unimog is large and in charge, but also because Arnie’s full name ain’t exactly short. Also, you can use it as a shibboleth when taking this truck out to meets and such, letting you know who all the true Unimog fans are with ease.

Whomever gets this Mercedes-Benz will be able to take it all sorts of places since its chassis clearances, big knobby tires, and four-wheel-drive system help it traverse all kinds of terrain. The interior is appropriately Spartan, lacking all the unnecessary frills you get too often in modern trucks.

What’s more, this Unimog comes with a manual transmission, meaning only the select few skilled drivers left can actually operate it. That’s a sad yet true fact these days. That transmission is mated to be very capable 6.4-liter inline-six turbodiesel engine, which produces plenty of low-end torque for pulling through mud or whatever else you might dare to venture through.

You’ll also note this truck comes with a number of custom modifications installed by Unimog specialists in Germany.

While this truck certainly has the chops for real adventures, since it’s celebrity-owned and has been signed by Schwarzenegger himself, it’s likely going to live a gentle life in a garage, possibly climate-controlled even, and will attend some nice events here and there.

If you want a shot at being the new owner of this Unimog Arnold Schwarzenegger himself drove, it will be crossing the block at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2024 event soon. Check out the lot listing for yourself here.
