A remarkable 1983 Ferrari 512 BBi, one of only 1,007 fuel-injected models produced during its four-year production run, is now up for auction on Bring A Trailer. Originally sold by Charles Pozzi Ferrari SAS in Paris, France, this exquisite vehicle was imported and Federalized in the U.S. in June 1983. The car boasts a 4.9-liter F110A flat-12 engine paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential, all finished in an eye-catching Nero Ferrari over Rosso leather with black accents.

Styled by Pininfarina’s Leonardo Fioravanti and introduced at the 1971 Turin Auto Show, the Berlinetta Boxer model features a steel-paneled cabin on a tubular chassis. The front and rear clamshells, along with the door panels, are aluminum, while the lower panels are made of fiberglass. This particular 512 BBi variant debuted at the 1981 Frankfurt Motor Show and, although not officially available in the U.S., was imported via the gray market.

This Ferrari, completed on November 22, 2, 1982, comes with pop-up headlights, fog lights, a front spoiler, NACA side ducts, and quad exhaust outlets. It rides on center-lock 415mm five-spoke wheels wrapped in Michelin Radial X tires, with a fully independent suspension system ensuring smooth handling. Ventilated disc brakes at all four corners provide ample stopping power.

Inside, the car is upholstered in Rosso leather with black leather accents. Notable features include a gated dogleg shifter, air conditioning, a cassette stereo, Pioneer door speakers, and power windows. The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Veglia instrumentation, including a 320-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,000-rpm redline. The five-digit odometer shows just 26,000 kilometers (~16,000 miles).

The 4.9-liter F110A flat-12 engine, featuring Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, delivers 340 horsepower to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. This vehicle underwent a major service by Pocono Sportscar in January 2019, costing approximately $18,000. The service included replacing the timing belts, alternator, water pump, tensioner, idler bearings, camshaft seals, air filters, fuel filters, and spark plugs. Detailed service records dating back to 1989 are included, along with historical photographs depicting engine-out work.

This 1983 Ferrari 512 BBi, with its stunning combination of performance, style, and meticulous maintenance, is now offered with records, historical photographs, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title. Don’t miss your chance to bid on this exceptional vehicle, representing a significant piece of Ferrari’s illustrious history.
