The Lamborghini Revuelto, Lamborghini's ambitious foray into the hybrid supercar market, encountered significant technical difficulties during a recent test drive by the well-known German supercar collector known as Gercollector. The incident, which was recorded and shared on social media, showcases potential reliability issues with the new model.

During the test drive on the Autobahn, intended to demonstrate the Revuelto's impressive performance capabilities, the vehicle unexpectedly entered limp mode shortly after an attempted acceleration test. Gercollector had switched the supercar into its Corsa mode at the highway on-ramp, expecting a surge of power from the 1000+ horsepower engine. Instead, the car struggled to accelerate, and an engine warning light appeared on the dashboard.

The situation did not improve after pulling over and allowing the car to cool down. Upon restarting, the Revuelto displayed additional error messages, adding to concerns about its condition. Notably, this vehicle had already accumulated over 2,000 kilometers, indicating it was sufficiently run-in and suggesting that the issues were not due to early teething problems.

Gercollector also noted that this wasn’t the first warning signal the car had shown; during the running-in period, the Revuelto had presented a transmission failure warning. While these problems might be attributed to a faulty sensor or a specific defect in this unit, they underscore the importance of a thorough investigation to ensure the reliability of future units.

This setback comes shortly after the Revuelto underperformed in a drag race against a Ferrari SF90 Stradale, as featured in a Carwow video, further highlighting challenges Lamborghini faces as it transitions to hybrid technology. Lamborghini has yet to respond to these incidents, but the automotive community will undoubtedly watch closely how the prestigious brand addresses these early hurdles in its next-generation supercar's development.
