Yahoo Autos These Are All The Lovely Little Interior Details On The 2025 Volvo EX30
The brand new Volvo EX30 is a gorgeous little go-getter of an EV. While its exterior is a little controversial (is it just me, or do those concave sections in the hood look more like dents?) the interiors Volvo cooked up are undeniably beautiful.
I got to speak with Camille Audra, one of Volvo’s Color & Material Design experts about the careful thought that went into each interior color and material choice. The one thing that came up constantly was how to make the vehicle feel true to its Scandinavian roots:

My clear favorite part of the interiors, the little pieces in the Particle plastic are made up of UV resistant recycled windows and roller shades. Such plastics are usually not recycled.
Floating Arm Rest
I also think this arm rest is kinda neat as well. You can see the multi-faceted black plastic made of recycled materials meant to mimic Scandinavian granite.
Door Handles
The door handles are also cool.
HVAC Vents
Even the vents on the Volvo EX30 deserve special appreciation.
Mood Lighting
Not the best image of the five mood light setting available for the Volvo EX30 interior, but you get a good idea of the strength of the lighting here. You can also see the granite-style rough black recycled plastic just below the Particle dash.
Plenty Of Storage
There’s no shortage of spots to stow your stuff in the center console.
Retractable Cup Holders
Window controls and power locks also sit in the middle console in order to reduce wiring.
Panorama Roof
Plenty of light in the greenhouse of this one. These faux leather seats are made from pine and recycled polyester.
Flax Deco Interior
Not sure what exactly is going on in this press picture. Maybe the Volvo EX30 got stuck in the Phantom Zone from Superman 2. The real story here is that flax deco interior. It looks sharp from far away but just wait until you see it up close.
The decision to use flax, or linen, was also informed by not just the sustainability of the plant, but the way in which it grows. Audra again:
We decided to use linen because it is an interesting plant. It grows in between food cultures so it doesn’t use space that could instead be used for food and people. It also regenerates the soil and it’s super lightweight.

Blue Jean Interior
Volvo specifically uses the fluff that comes off recycled blue jeans that normally get thrown away. The result is a blue plastic that almost looks like tanned leather. There aren’t many more press images of this interior, as it wasn’t featured on the press drive vehicles. However Audra told me that Volvo expects most customers will go for the darker interior with the blue dash as this is the only interior option available to folks who buy the single motor Core EX30—the most affordable trim. Renewable Seats
Interior fabric colors come in four colors: a light blue, a dark blue, a dark green and a white with diamond patterns. Each featuring renewable or recycled material. The dark green, for instance, features wool and recycled polyester but also a fake leather made from pine trees. Audra again:
With this one, we really wanted people to feel like they were on a walk through the pine forest; a very Scandinavian past time.
Textured Seats
Back seat is quite nice and comfortably fit my six foot driving partner with room to spare.
Because Why Not
I have no idea what the point of this press image is, but I find it hilarious. Why is there a tiny ant sized EX30 on the hood of this normal EX30? Or is it a giant EX30 with a normal size one traversing its endless hood. So many questions.
