Miata Disguised As Aston Martin Is Hideous

People do weird things with cars, and sometimes people do awful things with cars. This 1993 Mazda Miata listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace in Ohio is of the latter sort. In case you can’t tell, it’s supposed to look like an Aston Martin if you squint just so and stand on your head, letting the blood rush to your brain.

The seller of this atrocity calls it the AMX07 Kit Car, which we suppose is intended to be clever, funny, charming, whatever. Instead, the urge to pour bleach into our eyes ruins any quippy little jokes. Seriously, does Mr. Clean make an eyewash station for home use?

We know some people just love Miatas and that’s great, but the little Mazda roadsters aren’t exactly our cup of tea. Sure, they handle sharply and are relatively cheap to own, but they share a certain quality with a gelding.

Also, some of us are a little too tall to comfortably fit in the things. And we also prefer vehicles with northwards of 500-horsepower. There, we said it, yes that’s going to make Miata owners outraged but it’s the truth.

Plus, the dimensions are all off for making this look like an Aston Martin. It’s like that one Fiero somebody tried transitioning into a Ferrari Enzo. Things just don’t look right, like at all. We suppose some people find that cute or funny or novel or whatever. But this just doesn’t float our boat.

So why share this car? We’re kind of confused about that ourselves. It’s like a train wreck we just can’t look away from. But maybe one of our readers will really want to buy this eyesore and will enjoy it? It’s a free country, at least for now, so why not?
