Trans Am Worldwide debuts its first hardtop 70/SS Chevelle.
Trans Am Worldwide has officially introduced the highly anticipated hardtop version of its 70/SS Chevelle Resurrection at the 2024 SEMA Show. This Florida-based specialty car builder, renowned for blending classic American muscle aesthetics with cutting-edge engineering, unveiled the vehicle to its proud owner in a reveal that captured the attention of enthusiasts and collectors alike. The hardtop 70/SS represents a fusion of classic style and modern technology, breathing new life into the iconic 1970 Chevelle Super Sport.
Co-founder Tod Warmack expressed excitement over the build, describing it as the closest homage to the original 1970 Chevelle SS the company has created. This hardtop model features the original factory color code for Fathom Blue Metallic, with Pearl White rally stripes meticulously coated in six layers of clear and block-sanded for a flawless, ridge-free finish. The dedication to detail extends to the interior, with plush two-tone design elements, custom 70/SS badging on the doors, and a 70/SS emblem adorning the center of the steering wheel.
One of the most innovative features of the hardtop 70/SS is its removable hardtop, designed to fit seamlessly over a concealed soft top. The hardtop can be removed manually, allowing the driver to enjoy an automatic drop-top experience with just the push of a button. Although Trans Am Worldwide plans to offer a custom garage lift to store the hardtop conveniently, this feature is not yet available for purchase.
Inside, the car maintains a classic yet luxurious feel. White seats with blue stitching complement the Fathom Blue Metallic exterior, while the upgraded carpet matches the iconic hue nearly perfectly. Designed with custom Rally 70/SS seat belts, every detail of this vehicle serves as a tribute to the Chevelle’s heritage.
With the hardtop 70/SS Chevelle Resurrection, Trans Am Worldwide has once again proven its ability to honor classic American muscle while embracing innovative customization. This debut at SEMA 2024 celebrates a milestone in the company’s journey and offers a glimpse into the future of bespoke automotive craftsmanship.
