  • GMC says the 2025 Terrain will be revealed later this year.

  • The current GMC Terrain was launched in 2018, which followed the arrival of the first-generation Terrain in 2010.

  • Judging by the teaser, it seems like the GMC Terrain will follow the growing trend of boxier styling.

Following the revamped Acadia, GMC is gearing up to launch the next generation of its Terrain. While the company hasn’t shared too many details about the upcoming, third-generation Terrain, it has shared the above teaser image. The Terrain last saw a styling update in ’22.

GMC didn’t say too much about the upcoming Terrain, but we probably shouldn’t expect sizable footprint growth in this generational shift. You can be almost certain that it’s going to fall in line with the boxier design language seen throughout the rest of the updated GMC roster.

As for the powertrain, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see the 1.5-liter turbocharged I4 stick around. In its current trim, this four-cylinder sends 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque through a six-speed automatic to the front wheels or an all-wheel-drive system when equipped.

There could be a chance that GMC swaps out the 1.5-liter mill with the 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine from the Trax, but we’ll have to wait until GMC fully reveals all the specs. We do know from the teaser image that the AT4 model is sticking around, so we should assume all-wheel drive is still on the menu.

As for when we’re going to see it, GMC wasn’t too clear. The company just said the ’25 GMC Terrain arrives in all its glory later this year. Pricing will likely come closer to when it’s scheduled to hit dealers, but you can almost expect a bump from the current $30,095 base price.
