A rare gem has surfaced in the world of classic cars: a 1981 Lamborghini Countach LP 400 S, a Series II model built by Bertone, is now available as a private listing through RM Sotheby’s. This particular Countach, chassis number 1121296, is one of only 105 Series II examples ever produced, making it a highly coveted piece among collectors.

Originally delivered to Switzerland, this Countach has remained in Europe, meticulously cared for by a succession of dedicated owners. It boasts its original beige leather upholstery, reflecting its well-preserved state and authenticity. The current owner, who acquired the car in 2021 from Jean Guikas, a renowned Lamborghini enthusiast, has ensured the vehicle's continued upkeep and restoration.

In 2022, this Countach underwent an extensive restoration by top Italian marque experts. The comprehensive work included a complete engine-out overhaul and detailed electrical work, ensuring the car performs as beautifully as it looks. The vehicle was also refinished in a rare Tahiti Blue, a striking shade seldom seen on Countach models, adding to its unique appeal.

The Series II LP 400 S is known for its distinctive smooth-finish wheels and lower suspension setting, which differentiate it from the later Series III models that featured a slightly raised suspension. This Countach was originally built to European specifications and initially sported a red exterior before its transformation.

With just over 3,000 miles on the odometer, this restored Countach is now poised for new adventures. It is listed for private sale through RM Sotheby’s with a price tag of $650,000 USD. Potential buyers also have the option to make an offer, providing a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history.

This Lamborghini Countach LP 400 S, with its blend of rarity, meticulous restoration, and stunning Tahiti Blue finish, is sure to attract significant attention from collectors and enthusiasts alike. Its appearance on the market is a testament to the enduring allure and timeless design of Lamborghini’s iconic supercar.
