  • The 2025 C8 Corvette ZR1 is scheduled to make its full debut this summer, and it will likely best its C7 predecessor’s performance.

  • You can expect the folks in Chevy’s engine room are going to be stuffing extra air into the ZR1’s cylinders.

  • This is the second time Chevrolet has teased the upcoming Corvette ZR1.

Corvette fans get ready, the latest ZR1’s full reveal is getting closer every day. But first, Chevrolet is showing off another teaser of its upcoming track-attacking ZR1, highlighting its exhaust note.

While Chevrolet hasn’t revealed any of the ZR1’s details yet, the beating heart of the ZR1 will probably be based on the Corvette Z06’s 5.5-liter LT6 V8.

While the Z06’s engine is naturally aspirated, you can expect the folks in Chevy’s engine room are going to be stuffing extra air into the ZR1’s cylinders. In fact, in the teaser, you can faintly hear a whistle, which might point toward a turbocharger or two.

Of course, the ZR1 is going to need a monster stat sheet to best not only the C8 Z06 but its C7 predecessor. The seventh-generation Corvette’s ZR1 sent 755 hp and 715 lb-ft of torque to the seven-speed manual transmission or eight-speed automatic and then to the rear wheels. Sadly, the stick won’t come back for the C8, but you can hear how quickly the ZR1 should shift in the above clip.

Ultimately, this is all just speculation. The Chevrolet product planners should clear up all of these questions—and more—when they pull the sheet off the C8 ZR1 later this year.
