Bugatti Bolide: A $4 Million Track-Only Hypercar

As Bugatti prepares to bid farewell to its traditional internal combustion engines, it introduces the Bolide, a track-only hypercar that epitomizes the zenith of combustion technology. Priced at $4 million each, the Bolide boasts an 8-liter quad-supercharged W-16 engine—a hallmark of Bugatti's engineering prowess. This hypercar, limited to a mere 40 units, all of which have been spoken for, marks a significant chapter in automotive history, representing the final iteration of Bugatti’s combustion-engine vehicles.

Despite its basis in familiar technology, the Bolide differentiates itself with an ultra-light design tailored exclusively for track use. Its impressive specs include an expected 1,578 horsepower and a torque of 1,180 pound-feet in its production form, slightly moderated from the prototype’s 1,825 horsepower. This power is housed in a revolutionary carbon-fiber composite chassis developed in collaboration with Italian race-car manufacturer Dallara, adhering to rigorous Le Mans race standards. The result is a hypercar that weighs only 2,733 pounds, optimizing its breathtaking speed capabilities.
