  • Boreham Motorworks, the motorsport and racing division of the DRVN Automotive Group, has signed a licensing agreement with Ford.

  • The agreement allows Boreham to build remasters and continuation models of legendary Ford road and race cars, starting with the RS200 and MK1 Escort.

  • The MK1 Escort is expected to be revealed in full later this year, with at least five more cars in the series. There's no word on pricing yet.

The UK-based Boreham Motorworks has signed a licensing agreement with Ford to build remasters and continuation models of historically significant road and race cars from Ford's history. Boreham Motorworks is the performance motorsport and racing division of the larger DRVN Automotive Group.

The first two models in the series will be a re-imagination of the RS200 and a "blueprint-accurate" and "period-sympathetic" version of the MK1 Escort, complete with continuation VINs. We'll have to wait and see what Boreham has in store for the re-imagination, but the company did call out the RS200's lightweight composite body, mid-engine layout, and four-wheel-drive system. We think it's a safe bet that the Boreham version will feature a similar layout with a lightweight design thanks to the liberal use of carbon fiber.

According to Boreham, the series will include at least five more legendary models from the Blue Oval's heritage. The company hasn't revealed any official metrics but plans to keep build numbers in the series incredibly low.

"From the first time we met with Boreham Motorworks and the DRVN team, it was clear that they had an exciting vision for how to bring some of our most iconic historical nameplates to life for the modern era," said Will Ford, the general manager of Ford Performance Motorsports.

The cover will be pulled off the MK1 Escort later this year, and though there's no word on pricing yet, the company is taking applications from prospective buyers now.
