Here’s How Much the 2025 VW ID. Buzz Will CostVolkswagen

  • The higher Pro S Plus trim will be offered in single- and dual-motor layouts, and will start at $65,045 for the RWD model, and at $69,545 for the 4Motion AWD model with a 231-mile EPA range.

  • 1st Edition models of the ID. Buzz will start at $67,045 for the RWD model, offering a number of unique details.

So much time had passed between VW's reveal of the ID. Buzz concept and its US-market arrival of the production ID. Buzz, that children born that year are now entering second grade. The only other notable mass-market EV to be taking this long to arrive is the second-gen Tesla Roadster, which was first shown a few months after the ID. Buzz concept in 2017, though we wouldn't bet any money on it actually appearing in 2025.

But the ID. Buzz is now close enough for us to see it with binoculars, and it's also close enough for us to finally learn the pricing of the various versions that will be offered stateside later this year, as well as their EPA numbers.

And the first bit of good news is that the base model will land just north of the $60,000 mark, with the Pro S carrying a starting price of $61,545.

But before we get to that... vaguely crowd-pleasing starting price, we should start off with the launch-only 1st Edition, which will offer a Dune interior and a choice of five two-tone exteriors. After all, those two-tone exteriors were a big part of the appeal of the concept, preventing the minivan from looking too industrial.

Buyers that have lined up for the 1st Edition will get a choice of Candy White top with Cabana Blue, Energetic Orange, Mahi Green, Pomelo Yellow, or Metro Silver. The 1st Edition flavor will also feature electrochromic panoramic glass roofs, easy/open sliding doors and tailgates, a 700-watt harman/kardon sound system, roof rail cross bars, heritage-inspired floor mats, and 20-inch wheels.

The 1st Editions will be offered in single-motor RWD form with 234 miles of range in the EPA cycle, and will start at $67,045.

1st Edition models with 4Motion all-wheel drive will start at $71,545, and will offer a 231-mile EPA-estimated range. So the range difference between RWD and AWD models will not be vast.

All three trims at launch will feature 91-kWh battery packs, and the EPA ranges will not differ greatly between RWD and AWD versions. Volkswagen

Both will be powered by 91-kWh battery packs, with the single-motor version producing 282 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, while the dual-motor version will have 335 hp to play with.

The one other difference between these two 1st Edition flavors will be the fact that the RWD models will only be offered with a rear bench seat, offering seating for seven, while the 4Motion AWD models will only feature captains chairs with seating for six.

When it comes to base models the Pro S trim, which will be offered solely in single-motor rear-wheel drive form, will kick things off with a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, LED headlights with adaptive front-lighting system, LED taillights, three-zone climate control, a 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and 20-inch wheels.

As standard features, the Pro S trim will also include 12-way power heated and ventilated front seats with massage and memory, the Buzz Box removable center console, a 12V trunk outlet, and eight USB-C ports, in addition to a few other goodies.

When it comes to safety features, the Pro S trim will offer Dynamic Road Sign Display, rear Park Distance Control, Park Assist Plus with Memory Parking, Light Assist, and a few other items.

The base Pro S trim will start at $61,545, offering a range of 234 miles in the EPA cycle, and will be available in three single-tone exterior colors including Deep Black Pearl, Metro Silver, and Candy White.

The Pro S Plus trim will dial up the list of standard features, and will be offered in a choice of RWD or AWD layouts. This model will build on the standard items offered in the base version, and will also add a head-up display, a 14-speaker 700-watt harman/kardon sound system, a manually-retractable tow hitch, and an Area View feature for the surround cameras.

"An available Flexboard with two fabric storage bins creates a flat floor when the seats are folded," VW notes.

An electrochromic panoramic smart glass roof, which can switch from opaque to transparent, will be a $1495 option on this model, and we have a feeling it will be a popular feature.

The Pro S Plus trim will give buyers a choice of two single-tone exterior colors including Deep Black Pearl or Candy White, but we have a feeling many will spend the extra $995 for their choice of one of eight two-tone exterior colors with a Candy White top. Those bottom colors will include Cabana Blue, Blue Charcoal, Energetic Orange, Indium Grey, Mahi Green, Metro Silver, or Pomelo Yellow.

Yet another two-tone choice will be a Metro Silver top with a Cherry Red bottom color, and this will be the only two-tone choice with a non-white top.

Single-motor Pro S Plus trim models will feature a bench seat as a standard item, but captains chairs will be available as an option on this version. 4Motion AWD models, meanwhile, will feature captains chairs as a standard item.

The Pro S Plus trim will start at $65,045 for the RWD model, and at $69,545 for the 4Motion AWD model, with EPA ranges identical to the Pro S trim.

Deliveries of the ID. Buzz will start later this year, but VW has not been more specific about timing.
