Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR), renowned for its motorsport pedigree, has announced its latest venture into the world of high-performance cars with the introduction of the Supercat V12 Super-GT. The Supercat reflects the iconic silhouette of the Jaguar XJ-S, which was originally produced from 1975 to 1996. The new restomod version, however, is enhanced with a muscular carbon body and a powerful supercharged V12 engine that delivers over 600 horsepower. It also features a manual transmission, aiming to provide an engaging and immersive driving experience.

Designed in collaboration with vehicle designer Khyzyl Saleem and automotive enthusiast Magnus Walker, the Supercat promises to blend aesthetic elegance with robust performance. TWR plans to produce only 88 units of this exceptional model, targeting enthusiasts in both Europe and the USA.

Fergus Walkinshaw, the son of TWR founder Tom Walkinshaw, leads the revived company. Since its establishment in 2020, Fergus and his business partner John Kane have focused on developing vehicles that honor TWR’s legacy of racing excellence. The Supercat is the first fruit of their labor, marking a significant milestone as the Jaguar XJ-S approaches its 50th anniversary.

“With the Supercat, we aim to fulfill our mission to build cars that are worthy of the TWR name and its winning heritage," Fergus Walkinshaw stated. "This car is not just a restoration; it's a bold reimagining that respects its origins while advancing towards the future."

TWR has scheduled the full debut of the Supercat for summer 2024, with appearances planned at various high-profile automotive events. This launch not only celebrates the rich history of the Jaguar XJ-S but also sets the stage for future projects under the TWR banner, promising a new era of classic yet cutting-edge performance vehicles.
