The most anticipated vehicle of the year is also the most controversial: Love it or hate it, the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck is a thorough rethinking of trucks.

The 2024 Tesla Cybertruck's stainless-steel body panels are thick enough to stop subsonic bullets.

The Cybertruck looks huge but is roughly the size of a Ford F-150 Lightning.

With 834 horsepower, the Cybertruck Beast hits 60 mph in 2.6 seconds.

The Cybertruck's looks are wild enough to prompt onlookers to ask if it's real or a movie prop.

Rear-axle steering makes the Cybertruck handy in traffic.

With its off-road modes not yet optimized, we stayed on the pavement.

Leaning a bike against the Cybertruck is not going to hurt it. The doors have no internal side-impact beams because they don't need them.

The Cybertruck's steering wheel is more like a rectangle, a yoke with a bar across the top.

The interior is spare, in Tesla fashion.

Most functions are controlled through the touchscreen, but a few important controls (wiper, turn signals) are on hard buttons on the yoke.
