The new Bugatti Tourbillon replaces the Chiron as the company's latest hypercar. It has a hybrid powertrain with a V-16 that produces a whopping 1775 horsepower.
The Tourbillon shares not a single component with the outgoing Chiron.
The Tourbillon is 1.3 inches lower than the Chiron, and the horseshoe grille is narrower than its predecessor's.
The Tourbillon's interior is tactile and analog. There is just one screen for tech connectivity, but it's hidden away when not in use.
The gauge cluster is presented like a mechanical timepiece. It mounts to the steering column and is never obscured.
Bugatti intends to build just 250 Tourbillons, with production kicking off in 2026.
Bugatti isn't hiding away the Tourbillon’s V-16. There's not even a glass hatch to protect it from the elements. What if it rains? "Well, then it rains on the engine," Mate Rimac says. "It can handle it."
The Tourbillon is the second new model from Bugatti since its merger with Rimac in 2021.
The submerged rear wing serves strictly as an airbrake, netting no added drag on the way to a top speed of 277 mph.
Designed to increase accuracy, a tourbillon is a rotating cage containing the inner workings of a mechanical watch. Bugatti named its new model after this technology as a way to celebrate the hybrid hypercar's analog and mechanical nature.
