This latest listing comes to us by way of Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, Pennsylvania. Among an excellent inventory of cars like Grand Nationals, Mustang Mach-1s and Plymouth Barracudas sits a relic from 1990s GM: a 1995 Buick Riviera.
This eighth-gen Riviera was the final generation of a nameplate that had been in Buick’s lineup since the early 1960s. It was no longer the rear-wheel drive, V8 powered personal luxury coupe though. This Riviera used GM’s G platform, which was utilized for some of the biggest and most luxurious cars GM made at the time like the Oldsmobile Aurora, Pontiac Bonneville and Cadillac’s Seville and Deville.
Unlike those models though, the Rivera was a big two door luxury coupe. Its design was handsome, but also sedate; some called it boring. Power came from two versions of GM’s 3800 V6: a base version with 204 horsepower or the optional supercharged version with 240 hp which powers this Riviera. Both engines were mated to a four speed automatic.
This example is pretty clean. There are some cosmetic issues like the wheels for example. Other than that it’s not bad. What makes this Riviera more appealing is the fact that it has just 30,545 miles; someone’s grandparents didn’t drive this thing at all. Despite the miles, buying this thing won’t break the bank. Classic Auto Mall is asking just $9,500 for this Riveria.
