BaT Auctions recently announced the launch of The AMG Black Series Collection from Silver Arrow Cars, featuring an exquisite lineup of some of the most powerful and exclusive models produced by AMG. This collection marks a significant event for automotive enthusiasts and collectors, highlighting a series that represents the pinnacle of AMG's engineering prowess.
The 2005 CLK AMG DTM Coupe is a highlight of the collection. Only 100 units were produced to honor factory driver Bernd Schneider’s victory in the 2003 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters Championship. This model is equipped with a supercharged 5.4-liter AMG V8 delivering 574 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. It features racing seats with suede inserts and extensive use of carbon fiber, and it has only 2,800 miles on the odometer.
The 2008 CLK63 AMG Black Series boasts a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter M156 V8, producing 500 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. It features an aggressive aero kit, flared fenders, a deep front splitter, and bolstered black leather seats with a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
The SL65 AMG Black Series, powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 with 660 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, is unique for its fixed carbon-fiber roof and performance enhancements such as a wider track and adjustable suspension. Only 175 units were built for the US market, and this example shows just 2,000 miles.
The 2012 C63 AMG Black Series is another standout, featuring a 6.2-liter M156 V8 with 510 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. It's about 240 lbs lighter than the standard model, thanks to lightweight alloy wheels and an optional rear seat delete, and it’s tuned for the track with a high-performance suspension.
The 2014 SLS AMG Black Series features a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter M159 DOHC V8, which produces 622 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque. This car is over 150 lbs lighter than the standard SLS, enhanced by carbon fiber and a titanium exhaust system, and has only 150 miles recorded.
The most recent car in the collection is the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series AMG ONE Edition. This special edition, offered only to Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar customers, includes a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that produces over 700 horsepower. It features a distinctive silver and black livery with turquoise accents and extensive use of carbon fiber.
