The first in what's touted as a new era of Infiniti luxury vehicles, the 2025 QX80 is the flagship the struggling brand desperately needs.

A full-size, three-row SUV, the QX80 pairs a burly truck-based platform with a deluxe cabin that's dressed to impress.

The exterior styling is striking too, especially in top-spec Autograph form, as shown here.

While the available air-spring suspension does an admirable job of keeping the QX80 from feeling too lazy in corners, it doesn't turn this three-ton truck into a sports sedan.

Comfortable cruising is what the QX80 is all about, and in the Autograph model we test-drove, we found the heavily padded chairs to be completely fatigue-free after a day of driving.

The second-row captain's chairs are similarly comfy, and like the front seats also feature a massage function on the Autograph model.

Adults can even fit in the QX80's third row—not just fit, but fit without being made uncomfortable.

The Sensory and Autograph models come with a 24-speaker stereo tuned by Klipsch that features integrated speakers in the front-seat headrests. But, it should be noted, these speakers aren't for playing music. Instead, they allow the driver to take a private phone call while their passengers continue to listen to music through the stereo's other speakers.

Dual 14.3-inch displays stand tall on the QX80's dashboard, one for infotainment and the other for digital gauges. Both feature Google-based software that's been styled with Infiniti's fonts and menu structure.

While the Autograph model is by far the fanciest, it costs well over $100,000. Infiniti says the midrange Luxe trim will be the volume seller, and we were able to sample that too, finding it to be nearly as nice but far cheaper at just under $92,000 to start.

As a flagship SUV, the QX80 delivers, and it's just in time for Infiniti. Over the next few years, the plan includes introducing new models, including an EV sedan, all with the intention of pushing the brand further upmarket.
